Free WiFi For iPhone Customers Around the Corner

FREE WIFI FOR IPHONE CUSTOMERS AROUND THE CORNER

February 11th, 2008

Starbucks ATT WifiToday, Starbucks and AT&T announced a partnership to offer free and paid WiFi at all Starbucks locations. The partnership with AT&T ends a six year deal with T-Mobile. Though, a deal was struck with AT&T, and T-Mobile Hotspot customers will continue to receive free service at all Starbucks locations where the service is available. The pact with AT&T significantly cheapens Startbucks' WiFi access from $39.99 a month to $19.99 a month. If you're already an AT&T broadband customer then the service is free! You can also purchase a 2 hour session for $3.99. AT&T now boasts over 17,000 WiFi locations (the linked AP article says 70,000, but I think that's a typo), which will be made available for free to all of Starbucks' 100,000 employees. Last but not least, AT&T said it will "soon extend the WiFi at Starbucks to its wireless phone customers". That should read: soon extend the WiFi at Starbucks to its iPhone customers (wink).
